We're looking for a QA Lead who can balance strong hands-on testing expertise with team leadership. You'll drive quality across manual, automated, and AI-driven testing, manage a team of QA engineers, and ensure releases meet a high bar for reliability before they reach production. You'll also help the team adopt AI tooling to speed up test creation, maintenance, and analysis.
key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of QA engineers: assign work, review test coverage, and ensure timely, quality delivery
- Own the test strategy for assigned projects, covering manual, automated, and AI-assisted testing
- Design, review, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing
- Evaluate, introduce, and operationalize AI-powered testing tools and techniques, such as AI-assisted test case generation, self-healing locators, intelligent test selection and prioritization, and automated failure triage
- Use LLMs and AI assistants to accelerate test design, test data generation, and defect analysis, with human review and validation of AI-generated output
- Define guidelines for responsible use of AI in QA, including review checkpoints, handling of sensitive data, and traceability of AI-generated test artifacts
- Plan and execute manual testing for areas where automation isn't feasible or cost-effective, including exploratory and edge-case testing
- Define test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with product and engineering teams
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
- Track and report quality metrics (defect trends, test coverage, flakiness, release readiness) to engineering and product stakeholders
- Manage defect triage, prioritization, and closure, and drive root cause analysis on recurring issues
- Mentor QA engineers on manual testing discipline, automation best practices, and effective use of AI tooling
- Ensure test documentation and evidence are consistently maintained to support audit and compliance needs
required qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Software QA/Testing, with at least 2+ years leading or handling a QA team
- Strong, demonstrated experience in both manual and automated testing, not an automation-only or manual-only background
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, RestAssured, or equivalent)
- Practical experience applying AI in test automation, with examples of AI-assisted test generation, self-healing automation, or AI-based test analytics (e.g., Testim, Mabl, Applitools, Katalon AI, or LLM-based tooling) delivering measurable results
- Working knowledge of prompting and validating LLM output for QA use cases, and awareness of its limitations (hallucination, non-determinism, data privacy)
- Solid understanding of API testing and its automation
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Strong grasp of SDLC/Agile practices and QA's role within them
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar)
- Strong communication and people-management skills, with experience conducting reviews, mentoring, and prioritizing team workload
preferred qualifications
- Exposure to SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001 compliance requirements, particularly around test documentation, traceability, and audit evidence, is a strong plus
- Experience testing AI/ML-enabled features (model output validation, prompt regression testing, bias and accuracy checks)
- Experience building AI-assisted test workflows using LLM APIs or agent-based test frameworks
- Experience with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling)
- Familiarity with testing in containerized or cloud-native (Kubernetes) environments
- Experience setting up quality gates within CI/CD pipelines
